The history of Lajeunesse Construction really began in 1947 when Roland Lajeunesse decided he liked carpentry work well enough to make it a career. By 1962, his well recognized quality solutions to the needs of residential home customers led to the formation of his own business, Lajeunesse Builders. With his wife Jeannine, a room in the basement of their home as an office and scattered rental warehouse space for equipment and supplies, they expanded the business to include commercial and industrial work in addition to continuing residential building and remodeling.
Their son, Michael, spent his years growing up being physically introduced to construction from the foundation up, and upon graduating from college with a major in building construction he returned home to work for his father. By 1982, with Michael’s own abilities readily recognizable, Lajeunesse Construction Incorporated was formed to include Michael as an officer. He is now the President/Treasurer of the firm.
With the increasing number and size of construction projects being undertaken yearly, productive operating efficiency became imperative. In 1987 the new facility on Route 302 in East Barre was completed, using the firm’s design and building skills, including modern computerized offices, a complete millworks shop with woodworking equipment, lumber and equipment warehouse, and maintenance area.
In 1989, Lajeunesse Construction became an American Buildings pre-engineered steel building dealer, providing numerous buildings for manufacturing and industrial facilities throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.
With a full fleet of heavy equipment and trucks, and years of experience in working closely with engineering and architectural firms, they are well versed to serve customers on commercial, industrial, residential, excavation and custom millwork projects.
Our philosophy to do quality work with our experienced work force has never changed. Hard work and fair pricing have resulted in many happy and satisfied customers since 1962. Lajeunesse Construction is a testimony of determination, skill, family unity and cooperation.
